WP2: Patient treatment modules

DESIGNING ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR MENTAL HEALTH CARE

In WP2 we have a team of researchers in human-computer interaction. Mainly we do research through design where we explore the potential of emerging Technologies in mental health care. In order to understand the needs of users and to map out the clinical needs for different treatment modules we work closely With clinicians and involve end-users in our design explorations. In this way we aim to address two of the main challenges in the field of computing and mental health: monitoring by using pervasive sensing and designing for interventions.

We focus on how emerging technologies such as sensors, wearables, mobile phone apps and virtual reality can be used as part of evidence-based internet interventions for mental health care. Further we investigate how such solutions can be integrated into the daily lives of our users and how they can become a viable part of the work practice of clinicians.  We also work with our industry partners to explore the possibilities for making innovative solutions that can be adopted by health care institutions.
